Our Story
Frankly Raw was established in Geelong, Victoria, created from a love of all thing’s health and wellness. A family brand bringing you the most delicious peanut butter, using just two ingredients: Australian grown peanuts and Murray River Salt.
Fran and Jimmy have been making this spread for friends and family since 2014. Although life was already busy, they always found time to make it for those asking for more. Strong supporters like her parents would leave bags of peanuts at the front door when they were ready for their next batch. Until one day Jimmy threw it out there "why not give the people what they want?"
2021 was the year for change. A year for setting new goals. If a few people loved the stuff, then the path was set.
And a new chapter began.
What you put into your body is just as important as what you put into the earth, so making a product that was good for both was a no brainer. A major focus for Frankly Raw is to absolutely align with their values on sustainability and create a positive environmental footprint.
When creating this product, what went INTO the jar, was just as important AS the jar. Everything used in the process had to be clean, and be able to break down back into the earth. “As the demand for the Peanut Butter grew, we were finding a lot of the nuts and the nut butters around us, were not 100% Australian. That was super important, so the hunt began”.
The nuts are grown locally in Kingaroy QLD, Australia and the salt comes from the Murray Darling Basin region of North West Victoria, also Australian. The jars and buckets, also made in Australia, fully recycable. And then finding the right labels, ensuring the inks and glues and printing processes were also earth conscious was a big driver. Packaging also had to be void of plastics and so you will find everything from the way the nuts are roasted and lovingly hand poured, to the box they are delivered to customers in, are compostable and contrbute to leaving the earth better than we found it.
And so splitting time between running day jobs, another home business, starting this and family life began. Living close to the CBD of Geelong in Regional Victoria, with daughter Stella (9), YUMCHA the Labradoodle, 5 chickens, 2 ducks, 8 fruit trees, a herb garden and of course the worm farm keeps everyone running on crazy time. This is where the inspiration comes from and who knows what else might get thrown in along the way. Watch this space.
